Google+ Geocaching - A fantastic hobby: Rules of Geocaching

Rules of Geocaching

Geocaching is fairly simple with just a few rules. These rules are there to make sure everyone knows what is expected from them and what is acceptable / unacceptable.

1. When you find the cache, if you take something from it as a souvenir, leave behind something in the cache of equal or greater value.

2. Sign the cache logbook with the date.

3. Log your experience on the cache listing site.

4. Do not move or remove the physical cache. After you have signed the logbook, put the cache exactly where you found it.

5. If you do not find the cache even after searching extensively, report DNF (Did Not Find) on the cache listing site. This will help the cache owner verify that the cache is still there and if not, he can disable the cache from the listing site. If you do find the cache, please make sure you report this as well since it lets other geocachers know that the cache is "active", i.e. the cache has not been removed.
